1 Electrical manual mode
To allow testing at start-up or in the event of malfunctions such as sensor defects, the
controller sequence can be overridden using electrical manual mode , the pump swit-
ched on and the mixing valve moved to the desired position.
To do this, select the “Mode” menu from the main menu by using the buttons marked
with an arrow and then pressing the select button. Change the mode to manual.
The red LED will flash to indicate that manual mode is active and the mixing valve can
be moved to the desired position using the OPEN and CLOSE buttons. The pump is on
while this is happening. To quit manual mode, press the ESC button and the control will
return to the previous mode.
2 Mechanical manual mode
Please note:
Mechanical manual mode must only be used if the 90C controller is in
electrical manual mode or disconnected from the power supply.
In exceptional circumstances, e.g. if the motor or gears are damaged, the mixing valve
can be moved into the desired position manually. To do this, put the 90C controller
into electrical manual mode as described above and then press in the grey mechanical
release button. While this is being done, the mixing valve can be adjusted manually
using a size 20 spanner. Once the mixing valve has been adjusted, the spanner must
be removed to prevent the unit from being damaged. To return to automatic mode, the
mixing valve needs to be turned by the spanner and without the release button being
pressed until the release button engages again.
The top line of the display shows either the menu that can be selected, the setting to be
made, the operating state, the relevant temperature or general information.
The bottom line of the display explains the current function of the three buttons in rela-
tion to the information on the top line of the display. Key to button functions:

Please note:
If a button is not pressed within 5 minutes, the unit will automatically
return to normal operation with status display:
Current temperature readings from the outside and flow pipe sensors, the target flow
temperature and the operating state of pump and mixing valve.
The date and time will appear on the display briefly from time to time together with the
current control mode. If a button is not pressed within 6 minutes, the display illumina-
tion will be switched off.
Exception:
If the controller is in manual or setpoint mode.
“01 Temperatures” menu
The current temperatures are displayed in this menu. First a summary of outside tem-
perature, (target flow temperature) and actual flow temperature appears.
Each of these values and the correction value of the optional room sensor can be
displayed individually in plain text by pressing a button.
“02 Operating Periods” menu
This menu is used to set the day operating periods for the heating circuit. They can
either be set as a daily program (every day the same) or weekly program (each day
separately).
Up to three day operating periods can be selected for the heating circuit each day. It is
possible to specify whether or not each day operating period is to have an additional
comfort boost.
Outside the day operating periods the controller operates in reduced night mode.
The day operating periods can be set between 00.00 and 24.00 daily. If the second or
third day operating period is not needed, the start of those periods should be set to
24.00 to prevent further day operation from taking place.
Day correction, comfort boost and night reduction are explained in more detail in sec-
tion “03 Settings” menu.
“03 Settings” menu
This menu is used to enter settings for the controller function and therefore the desired
temperature level. Factory settings are shown in bold text.
S/W day
18°C
(setting range 10...30°C)
Select the outside temperature at which the controller should switch between summer
and winter in day mode.
Summer mode: When the selected temperature is exceeded, the mixing valve closes
completely and the heating-circuit pump is turned off.
Winter mode: If the temperature drops below the set value, controller is resumed.
S/W night
12°C
(setting range 10...30°C)
The same as for S/W day, but this setting is for the night operating period.
FT>HC off
15°C
(setting range 7...30°C)
If the target Flow Temperature is below the Heating Curve value set here, the mixing
valve closes and the circulation pump in the heating circuit is turned off.
Emergency/Manual mode (for use by qualified persons only)
