If the backup file name already exists, the system will ask you if you want to overwrite it 
before proceeding. 
 

3.  Ericsson recommends that you copy the backup tar file to another client in case of failure of 

the HL950.  For example, to copy the backup file for MSED01 to the server at 192.168.24.35, 
enter:

5.4 Restore 

If your HL950 image becomes corrupted, you can restore your system with the backup image. 
 
To restore the system from a backup image: 
 

1.  From the HL950 CLI, enter 

HL950>

 

config restore

 

 

2.  The system responds: 

This command will overwrite the existing configuration! 
And the system will be rebooted automatically!! 
Do you want to proceed? (Y/N)

 

 

3.  If you enter 

Y

, the system will copy the configuration files from the backup archive and then 

restart the system. 
 
If you want to restore from a backup image other than the one in the root directory, you must 
copy the desired file into the HL950 root directory and (if necessary) rename it to 

systemname

.tar (where 

systemname

 is the name of the system to be restored). 

 
If the desired backup image resides on another system, TFTP that file into the root directory of 
the HL950 to be restored, and then (if necessary) rename it to 

systemname

.tar (where 

systemname

 is the name of the system to be restored). 

 

NOTE!

  

If your restored system does not work properly, make sure that the desired services are turned 
ON. 

5.5 Upgrade 

As HL950 revisions become available from Ericsson, you will need to copy these files (BOOTROM 
and/or JOGWARE) to your system(s) using TFTP.  
 
After upgrading and when you reload or reboot the HL950 it will use the upgraded bootrom or 
jogware.bin image.
