SETTING UP CAMERA

Disconnect the AC adapter or remove batteries before disassembling
the camera.

Discharge the electricity in the electrolytic capacitor by using cement
resistor when you need to touch the ST1 board for repair service.
(See Chapter4, page 4-4 for more details) The electrolytic
capacitor(C5412), which is mounted on the ST1 board is for light
emission and to be charged automatically every time the power is
turned on. Therefore, there is a danger of getting electric shock.
Step4. Remove the front and rear cabinets so that camera body itself is exposed.
Step5. Make CN303 on the SY1 board get short.

In order to make CN303 get short, insert a white cable(2-pin) into
CN303 while making the on/off detection switch of rotary switch
(power switch), which is fixed in the front cabinet by one screw, in
the short condition.
Step6 Make sure that both camera and PC are turned off.
Step7. Insert the serial cable which came with camera to the serial port which is presently
set on the computer.
Step8. Insert the serial cable to the serial connector of the camera.
Step9. Turn on both camera and computer.

It is recommended to use an optional AC adapter when performing
adjustments.

Serial cable used for communication is compatible with the one of
PhotoPC500.
Following figure shows setting up of camera and computer.
