Handshaking The type of handshaking to use when communicating with the device
connected to the serial port.
Handshaking Description
None (always high) No handshaking is used. The radio's CTS
line is always asserted.
Hardware Standard RTS/CTS handshaking is used.
RTS/CTS input
framing The radio transmits data only when the
radio's RTS line is asserted.

Buffer mode This option controls how the radio handles data received from the serial
port.
Mode Description
High throughput The radio automatically selects the best
packet size based on the

timeout setting.
Data may be delayed, but the best use is
made of the available wireless bandwidth.
Quick turn-around Data is transmitted as soon as it is
received from the device connected to the
serial port.
Character timeout The maximum amount of time, in milliseconds, to wait before sending out
the data received from the device connected to the serial port.
The radio will accumulate data in its buffers, and will send it out when one
of the following conditions are met:
The number of accumulated characters reaches the maximum
packet size (determined by the radio).
