Firmware upgrade
Note: Firmware updates and log files must use USB2.0 only not USB3.0)
1.
Plug in USB stick (formatted as standard FAT32 file system) that contains ERT-A2Vx.x.bin
firmware file.
2.
Press and release boot push button and then within 1 second press and hold test button for
more than 1 second.
3.
Input LED 1(D1-Left most) will lite to indicated USB has been detected and firmware update
process will begin.
NOTE:
DO NOT REMOVE
USB stick during writing process as doing so may render the unit
inoperable.
4.
As the firmware update progresses it will lite Input LED 2 (D2), LED (D3) and finally LED (D4).
Process should only take a few minutes.
5.
Once all four input LEDs (D1
–
D4) are lit then you can safely remove the USB stick and the
unit will restart.
If there is a problem with firmware update it will abort the process. To gain further information on
process connecting to the RS232 port at 9600,n,8,1 settings you will see descriptive text on the
progress and any error conditions that may be reported.
Below is a quide to progress as observed on input LEDs.

Data log File download
All configured sensor event or updates are logged into internal flash memory as ALERT2 ASCII data
frames. This data can be downloaded to use to backfill after communication outage or for analysing
sensor values.
Use the follow procedure to recover a log file form the unit:
1.
Plug in USB stick formatted as standard FAT32 file system.
2.
Press and hold test button for more than 5 second and release.
