Diagnostics
The ERT-A2 provides a range of diagnostic features to allow quick and successful installation,
commissioning and fault finding in the field.
Configuration Menu Items
Unit Diagnostic Menu:
a) Show I/O Values Display current external input values for discrete,
pulsed and analog inputs. Will force analog loop
supply to turn on to sample fresh value.
b) Show RSSI List Repeater or Receiver Base station only: Display list
of Station IDs with last RSSI and time heard from.
c) SDI-12 value & Test Test functions for SDI-12 sensor to allow
reading/changing of sensor address, info
commands, etc to allow fault diagnosis.
d) Show Internal I/O Display current values for internal inputs, Battery
Voltage, Solar/Supply Voltage, RSSI, Internal
Temperature, Internal Status
e) Force Update Message Force sending of Multi-sensor report message.
f) Show Firmware Version Display Firmware versions of host, bootloader and
radio.
g) Show Hardware Version Display hardware revision of host electronics
printed circuit board assembly.
h) Load New Radio Firmware Upload new firmware into VHF/UHF radio –
Firmware v1.5 or later and radio v1.2 or later
i) Activate BLE DFU Turn on Bluetooth (BLE) configuration port –
FUTURE
j) Activate Radio Firmware After the radio firmware upload has been
completed, use this option to activate firmware in
the radio.
k) Update Host Bootloader Upload new firmware into the host bootloader.
l) Calibrate Analog Input 1 Calibrate analog input 1 – requires precision 4-
20mA source.
m) Calibrate Analog Input 2 Calibrate analog input 2 – requires precision 4-
20mA source.
n) Set Analog Default Calibration Reset analog inputs 1 and 2 to factory defaults.
o) Erase Flash Memory Erase all flash memory – logged data, factory
calibration and configuration.
p) Enable Debug Console Output Turn on diagnostic messages
q) Enable Maintenance Mode Enable maintenance mode – flags sent messages as
maintenance in ALERT2 protocol.
r) Communications Supply Force On Used to turn on communications port power supply
system to allow external configuration of cellular or
satellite modem units.
s) Radio Tone Reversals Used to force the internal radio to transmit
continuously for testing of VSWR and antenna
systems.
