Checking level and refilling engine oil
If the oil level in the engine drops below a certain level, the electronics in the machine will go
into safe-mode and the engine will switch off. By then, the machine will have been working
with a lack of lubrication for some time. In order to avoid this scenario, regular checks on the
oil level are vital.
• Place the machine on flat ground so that the engine plate is horizontal.
• Turn the engine off and take the key out of the ignition.
• Leave the engine to cool down for about 15 minutes.
• Open the 3 protective covers around the
engine.
• Remove the filler cap (1) with the dipstick
attached to it from the crankcase.
• You will then be able to see if there is enough
oil in the crankcase. The oil level should come
up to the brim of the filler opening. The oil on
the dipstick should touch the maximum mark.
• If the oil tank is not filled to the brim, this
indicates a lack of oil.
• It suffices to add some oil via the filler opening
until the proper level has been reached.
Continue to add oil until the desired level is
reached.
• Since the location of the filler opening is in a
somewhat awkward position, we recommend
the use of a tube or special funnel to avoid oil
spills.
Caution:
• Be aware that it will take a while for the oil to fully descend into the sump.
Make sure you leave small intervals when filling the oil so that the dipstick
gives the correct oil level reading.
• Oil shortages cause severe, irreparable engine damage. (This type of defect is
not covered under warranty).
