Lastly, in the bottom right quadrant you can find the “Spindle Index” function key (if the machine has this
option) and the logout software key.

7.3 Spindle functions

7.3.1 Interchangeable rotating spindle

Rotating spindle changing procedure

If you have different rotating spindles, follow these instructions to change them.

•

Move the column to a position so that it is easy to disassemble the spindle: X axis completely
to the left, Z axis completely at the top;

•

remove the tool from the spindle and deactivate the brake and the index (if present);

•

remove the rotating spindle towards the top keeping it parallel to the column;

•

clean the extracted spindle and lubricate the rectified parts with antioxidant liquid (i.e.
Chesterton 775), before placing it in a secure place;

•

clean the spindle that has to be inserted in the presetter;

•

insert the new spindle into the spindle body of the presetter, keeping it parallel to the column.

•

if you don’t have different rotating spindles but adapters only, follow the next procedure.

Spindle adapters changing procedure

•

Remove the adapter (if present), clean it and lubricate the rectified parts with antioxidant liquid
(i.e. Chesterton 775), then place it in a secure place;

•

clean the spindle and the new adapter;

•

insert the new adapter into the spindle

7.3.2 Manual spindle brake

The machine is equipped with a manual spindle brake that
can be activated by turning the knob (located on the right-
hand side of the casing, next to the spindle) clockwise (to
lock) or anticlockwise (to unlock)
