GSM module

3.2.1.

Description

A cellular communication module cooperating with the CPX300W alarm control panel, powered directly
from the control panel motherboard. There are two variants of the module due to the generation of a
supported cellular network (2G/3G), each of which has two nano SIM card slots (Dual-SIM).

 - Socket for mounting the first nano SIM card,
 - Socket for mounting the second nano SIM card,
 - SIM1 LED (main SIM),
 - SIM2 LED (second SIM),
 - Connector for installation of the module,
 -  SMA  male  connector  for  mounting  the  GSM
antenna,
 - Mounting hole for the screw.

Fig. 3. View and description of the GSM module board.

3.2.2.

INSTALLATION OF THE MODULE AND SIM CARDS

The module should be inserted at an angle of approximately 30° (to minimize the possibility of damage
to  the  connector)  into  the  dedicated  connector  on  the  CPX300W  motherboard  (labelled  "cellular
network" - see Figure 1 item 6) and then screwed with a screw attached to the set.

The module has two sockets for mounting nano SIM cards. To place the card, slide it from the bottom of
the socket as shown in Figure 4.

Fig. 4. The correct way of installing the SIM card.

NOTE:

1.

All installation activities, including the installation of nano SIM cards and antenna, should be
carried out with power disconnected.

2.

Do not power the control panel with the cellular module installed without at least one SIM card
inserted to it!

3.2.3.

LED signalling

After detection of the main SIM card in the GSM module, the yellow LED indicating the presence of the
card will turn on (fig. 3, item 3). An attempt to connect to the GSM network will start - the STATUS LED
will flash and the CELL will light steadily. After successful connection, the STATUS LED will light steadily
and the CELL LED will flash. If a second SIM card is used, it is necessary to configure the control panel
accordingly - see chapter "Use a spare SIM card" in the EBS Config 2.0 instruction manual.
