3.2 TESTING
3.2.1 Testing outgoing motor groups
Test possibilities
Depending upon the version supplied, there are five
possible alternatives for testing draw-out units.
•
Using a main current switch with test-position.
•
Removal of main current cassettes on the outgoing
side.
•
Placing draw-out units provided with this type of
intermediate position in the test-position.
•
Use of a control voltage change-over.
•
Use of a separate test-unit.
Use of a main current switch with test-position
•
Put the main current switch into the test-position (T).
•
Test via the normal control unit.
Removal of main current cassettes on the outgoing
side
•
Turn off the main circuit interrupting device.
•
Open the door.
•
Remove the draw-out unit.
•
Remove the three main current cassettes on the
outgoing side.
•
Replace the draw-out unit.
•
Close the door and switch on the main circuit
interrupting device.
•
Test via the normal control unit.
Application of trays with special test position
With this version, the front cover is fixed to the tray. see
Figure 3-7). Besides the test position, this tray is also
provided with an isolated and an operating position
A When tray is in the operating position
•
Switch off the main switch.
•
Operate the locking levers on the operating handles
and pull the tray slightly forwards, the front. Then
release the locking levers.
•
Pull the tray, further to the front, without using the
locking levers. The tray is then automatically locked in
the test - position. The main current connection are now
disconnected but the auxiliary circuits are still
energized, so that the tray can still be tested via the
normal operating circuit. When in this position, the main
switch can if required be switched on and off, to enable
the associated auxiliary contacts to be tested.
•
The tray can be moved from the test - position to the
isolated position by pressing the locking levers and
pulling the tray slightly to the front. This can only be
done when the main switch is switched off. Then
release the locking levers and pull the tray further to the
front. The tray is then automatically locked in the
isolated position. (Both main and auxiliary circuits are
isolated.)
•
The tray can be moved from the isolated position and
completely removed from the panel by pressing the
locking levers and pulling the tray fully to the front.
B Moving tray from isolated position to test-position
•
If the tray has not yet been fitted, mount it into the
associated panel by pressing the locking levers on the
operating handles and push it slightly to the rear. Then
release the locking levers and push the tray further to
the rear. The tray is then automatically locked in the
isolated position.
•
The tray can be moved from the isolated position by
pressing the locking levers and pushing it slightly to the
rear.
•
Release the locking levers and push the tray further to
the rear. It is then automatically locked in the test
position. Only the auxiliary circuit is now connected and
the tray can be tested via the normal operating circuit.
When in this position, the main switch can if required be
switched on and off, to enable the associated auxiliary
contacts to be tested.
•
The tray can only be placed in the operating position
after having been in the test position when the main
switch is switched off. To achieve this, the locking
levers must be pressed in and the tray (in the test
position) pushed slightly to the rear. The locking levers
can then be released and the tray can be pushed
further back into the operating position.
R
EMARK
When the test-position or isolated position is not
required, a tray can be pushed in or withdrawn by
pressing the locking levers. This can only be
achieved when the main switch is switched off.
