13.4 CLEANING
12.4.1 INTERIOR
Periodically clean out the test chamber, as follows:
1. Where fitted, remove the Porvair mat from the Drawer base (Sensor Platform).
2. Lift the Sensor Platform to decouple it from the drawer front (take care not to over
-
strain the load cell
when it is extended).
3. Remove the drawer front (there is a spring loaded catch on each slide).
3. Use a vacuum cleaner to clean out the test chamber (it may be of convenience to make up a
reduction tube to fit the end of the vacuum cleaner nozzle.
4. Replace any Porvair that has become contaminated.
4. Refit the drawer front, and lift the Sensor Platform so that is re
-
coupled to the drawer front.
13.4.2 EXTERIOR
Remove any signal cables from the
“
D
”
type connectors and ensure all plug covers are in place. The
power cable should be removed at the flying IEC connector. Ensure that the end of this cable is not
allowed to come into contact with any liquid. The exterior of the instrument can be cleaned with a cloth
moistened with water, detergent solution, or with non
-
aggressive solvents such as industrial
methylated spirit or isopropyl alcohol. The use of solvents such as ketones is not recommended as
they may attack some plastic parts of the machine. Before making any electrical connections ensure
that the instrument has been thoroughly dried.
13.4.3 PRESSURE PLATE AND LOAD CELL PLATFORM
The porous material of the nest cut
-
out bases and the pressure plate (Porvair) is specially formulated
so that it will not block leaks in the package under test. If this material becomes soiled it should be
replaced or some leaks may not be detectable.
13.5 FUSE REPLACEMENT
There are two mains (power) fuses within the mains inlet/fuse/switch/filter assembly on the rear panel
of the instrument. The fuse is a T5A / 250V 20 mm type.
ONLY REPLACE THE FUSE WITH ONE OF THE SAME TYPE AND RATING!
