Failure of the power supply
If the power supply fails, the device triggers a
power supply failure alarm. The ventilation settings
and the alarm limits remain saved even in the
event of a power supply failure.
Restore the power supply immediately, see
page 50.
Or:
Disconnect the patient from the device and
immediately resume ventilation using another,
independent ventilator.
Alarm – Cause – Remedy
Alarm messages are displayed in a separate field
in the current dialog window.
In the following table, the alarm messages are
listed in alphabetical order. The table shows
possible causes for an alarm and corresponding
remedies. Causes and remedies must be worked
through in the order listed until the alarm has been
resolved.

Exp. valve opened
Increased pressure in the breath-
ing circuit. The expiratory and
emergency breathing valves
have been opened to relieve
pressure in the breathing circuit.
Check the breathing circuit and
expiratory valve and replace if
necessary.

Airway pressure high
Inspiration cancelled
Increased pressure in the breath-
ing circuit. Mechanical inspiration
has been shortened to relieve
pressure in the system.
Check the breathing circuit and
replace if necessary.
Device malfunction.

Airway pressure low
Leakage or disconnection
Check the breathing circuit for
leakages in the connections.
Inspiratory or expiratory flow set
too low.
Increase flow.
Apnoea
The patient's spontaneous
breathing is interrupted.
Apply controlled ventilation.
