In t en d ed Use
The intended use of the TPSS is the automated handling of surgical fluids collected within the hospital and/or surgical
center. Fluid filled canister(s) are automatically emptied, cleaned, disinfected and rinsed allowing for immediate reuse in
the surgical process.
E q u ipm e nt D e s c r ip t ion
The TPSS is a standalone unit that can automatically process up to two disposable or reusable canisters. The TPSS also
disposes of solids that are normally flushed down a clinical sink (hopper) allowing it to replace an existing clinical sink
when space restrictions apply. The TPSS significantly reduces employee exposure to potentially infectious body fluids,
while eliminating up to 70% of Operating Room red bag waste.
The TPSS processes 1800cc and/or 2800cc canisters for reuse. Once installed, operators simply place fluid filled
canisters in the unit and close the lid. With a touch of a button the canisters are automatically emptied, cleaned,
disinfected and rinsed. The canisters are then placed in an area to dry. With the addition of a new single use lid, they are
ready for reuse within the facility.
