The ACTION DATA Text Editor
This is the “text editor” in order to add/edit what Serstech names as “Action Data” for your substances.
Typically Action Data may be in the form of Material Safety Data sheets, but you may also use the
Action Data instances for any other type of information you want the users to be made aware of
should they identify this substance during any field measurements.
The Serstech instrument stores the Action Data as Unicode in a “json” file and uses HTML tags for
formatting. This combination implies that special caution must be applied to control the format of the
text. This text editor provides a convenient way to create or edit Action Data instances knowing that
the formatting control is provided for by the system.
Action Data Label

This is a free text “label” for this specific instance of Action Data. It is recommended to have a
leading numerical digit in front of the label, as that will control within which sequence the
Action Data instances are shown on the instrument.
Action Data Information

Enter text:
You can enter text directly into the text box in the following ways;

Directly from your keyboard.
o
By pasting text using your computer’s usual short cuts for “paste”

Format text:
You can format your text by using the predefined “format buttons” (Bold, Italic
and so on) on top of the text window

Special characters
: The Drop-down list to the right of the format buttons provides an easy
way to include special characters, such as: ©, ®, ™, °,

Please note:
A double quotation mark character, “, will not be allowed in Action Data Information field as this will
cause the instrument to hang. DMT will thus replace these with single quotation mark: ‘
