Create New 

Library

 

 

•

  Type in the name of your new reference library 

•

  Clicking “

Cancel

”, which returns you to “Local Database Management Main Screen”. 

•

  Clicking “

Save

”, which creates a new, currently empty, reference library on your instrument. 

 
You may later populate this new library with reference spectra in any of the following ways; 

•

  By making this library the “Active Database” and then performing “Add Substance” scans from 

the instrument 

•

  By importing substances from external storage 

•

  By moving substances from other local references libraries, thus being able to sort your 

substances in various sub libraries

Import 

Library

 

 

This brings up a file browser window that may vary slightly in appearance depending on your 
operating system (above example from MAC OS X). 
 
You have the option to: 

•

  Click “

Cancel

”, which returns you to “Local Database Management Main Screen” 

•

  Browse to a certain location on your computer where you have stored earlier exported 

reference libraries (possibly from another Serstech instrument) or reference libraries shared 
with you by other user(s), for example using DMT’s built-in “email” function. Please note that 
reference libraries to be imported must be in compressed zip format, typically created by 
DMT’s “export” or “email” functions. 

•

  Select the file containing the library you want to import and click “

Open

”. This will “unpack” the 

zip file and install the selected library on your Serstech instrument.
