15.1 WARNINGS AND CAUTIONS
The IDM100 Medical Tablet electrocardiography component is intended for use only by trained operators.
The IDM 100 allows a trained operator to acquire ECG (Electrocardiograph) waveforms using the ECG
front end modules (ECG cable and electrodes) and associated accessories, which provide signal
acquisition for up to twelve (12) leads of patient ECG waveforms through surface electrodes adhered to
the body.
The 12-lead ECG is for use by health care professionals only.
It is recommended to check the ECG cable and electrodes and tablet for damage prior to use. If damage
exists, do not use the ECG cable, and contact your local Dictum Health Sales Office or your authorized
Dictum Health dealer or distributor to have it replaced.
Perform the following inspections daily to ensure patient safety and proper operation
:
•
Verify that electrodes are fully attached using the instructions that follow.
•
Check for cracked or broken ECG cable and electrodes, power cord, communications cables, display,
and enclosure.
•
Check for bent or missing pins on all electrodes.
•
Check all connections; reseat if any connectors are loose
DO NOT touch the patient, ECG cable and electrodes, or IDM100 Medical Tablet, during defibrillation.
Death or injury may occur from the electrical shock delivered by the defibrillator.
