Electrical Requirements and Wiring Diagrams
All field installed wiring to the tube heater must be done in accordance with the national, state, and
local codes, and to the guidelines in this manual. In the United States, refer to the most current
revisions to the Electrical Code ANSI/NFPA 70. In Canada, refer to the most current revisions to the
Canadian Electrical Code CSA C22.1 Part 1. The unit must be electrically grounded according to
these codes. Line polarity must be observed when making field connections.

WARNING
!
Shock hazard.
Disconnect power supply before making wiring connections to prevent
electrical shock and equipment damage.
Any original factory wiring that requires replacement must be replaced with wiring
material having a temperature rating of at least 600 V, 105°C.
NOTICE
Connecting the thermostat with a voltage other than 24V may damage the heater. The CL3 Series
requires a 24 VAC connection to the thermostat. This is either supplied by the heater internally
(standard) or by an external transformer (with optional isolation relays, P/N: HLRP). See Figure 3.31.
