Making and receiving calls
If you wish, for example, to operate a remote answering machine, you must enter control
codes after the connection has been established. Depending on how your varix 14/200 is
configured, you may have to switch over the dialling mode. If your device has no special
function key for switching over the dialling mode, proceed as follows:

A connection is established.

Press the program key, then the numeral keys 0, 7. Tone suffix dialling is
active.

Enter the code.

To switch back: press the program key, then the numeral keys 0, 7. Tone
suffix dialling is switched off again.

Replace the handset.
If you wish, for example, to transmit data via an acoustic coupler, you can protect your
telephone from disturbances (e.g. call waiting signals) for the duration of the call.

A connection has been established. Press the program key. Press the
numeral keys 8, 4. For the duration of this connection the telephone is
protected from intrusions.
