G. Installation/Programming issues:
When
installing
a Gateway 500 Lite, please
do not forget (!):
-
Gateway must be the
last connected device
on the MOST ring, or other devices like Amplifier,
Phone, Navigation, etc. will not be accessible when the Gateway is active
-
Factory
CD-Changer
cannot
be retained
-
Programming required
if factory CD-Changer option was not set – on BMW, Mercedes,
Porsche and Saab
-
double check the light directions on the MOST ring
-
power needs to be constant/permanent 12V
-
take care because BMWs have 2 different kinds of switched power – one of them goes OFF
immediately as soon as the key is removed from the ignition – the other goes OFF after 15
minutes (!)
-
There is
no DIP switch
, therefore it requires an additional USB configuration (default setting is
Mercedes)
In case of BMW for Programming we recommend
Autologic
or other 3
rd
party enabler (NCS expert).
Using the factory programmer is not recommended because it can be done if manual programming
mode selected. You can use the factory computer for all other brands.
