G. Factory phone option does not work
The
Gateway Pro BT
can operate as a
Media player
(Gateway functions are active only) or a
phone
module
(only on CAN BAP – GWP1V21). In order to turn a main function OFF (phone or media), you
need to use the DIP switches on the hardware.
To
disable
phone
functions,
DIP switch #5
needs to be
turned ON
.
To
disable
Media
function on BAP, you need to
turn
DIP switch #6 ON
.
After setting DIP switches, always
press reset on the device
so that it will boot with the new settings.
To use the Gateway Pro BT as a
Media player
-
Disable the phone option (DIP #5)
-
Change the 4 PIN MOLEX (phone audio cable) installation on the Gateway harness. If you miss
that step, the factory phone will work
but no sound will be heard.
Please note:
The factory phone module and the Phone option on the Gateway cannot be used parallel.
One of them has to be disabled/disconnected.

(on BMW you need to press and hold the FFW button)
f.

wait for 2 minutes
g.

(now the phone will pair with BT audio option also)
