Jumpersandconnectors
This topic provides specific information about the system jumpers. It also provides some basic information about jumpers and
switches and describes theconnectors on the various boards in the system. Jumpers onthe system board help to disable system
and setup passwords. Youmustknowthe connectors on the system board to install components and cables correctly.
System board jumper settings
CAUTION: Many repairs may only be done by a
certified
service technician. Youshould only perform troubleshooting and
simple repairs as authorized in your product documentation, or as directed by the online or telephone service and support

The password feature is enabled (pins 1–2).
The password feature is disabled (pins 2–3).
NVRAM_CLR

The configuration settings are retained at system boot (pins 2–3).
The configuration settings arecleared at the next system boot. (pins 1–
2).
