User Guidelines

•

When configuring the Forward-Time the following relationship should be kept:

2*(Forward-Time - 1) >= Max-Age

Example

The following example configures spanning-tree bridge forward time to 25 seconds.

The

spanning-tree hello-time

Global Configuration mode command configures the spanning-tree

bridge hello time, which is how often the switch Broadcasts hello messages to other switches. Use the

form of this command to reset the default hello time.

— Time in seconds. (Range: 1 - 10)

Default Configuration

The default hello time for IEEE Spanning-Tree Protocol (STP) is 2 seconds.

Max-Age >= 2*(Hello-Time + 1)
