Example

The following example configures the host leave-time-out to 60 seconds.

ip igmp snooping querier enable

The

ip igmp snooping querier enable

Interface Configuration mode command enables Internet Group

Management Protocol (IGMP) querier on a specific VLAN. Use the

form of this command to disable

IGMP querier on a VLAN interface.

Syntax

•

ip igmp snooping querier enable

•

no ip igmp snooping querier enable

Default Configuration

IGMP querier is d

isabled.

Command Mode

Interface Configuration (VLAN) mode.

User Guidelines

•

IGMP snooping querier can be enabled on a VLAN only if IGMP snooping is enabled for that VLAN.

No more then one switch can be configured as an IGMP Querier for a VLAN.

When IGMP Snooping Querier is enabled, it starts after host-time-out/2 with no IGMP traffic
detected from a Multicast router.

The IGMP Snooping Querier disables itself if it detects IGMP traffic from a Multicast router.
It restarts itself after host-time-out/2.

Following are the IGMP Snooping Querier parameters as function of the IGMP Snooping parameters:

•

QueryMaxResponseTime: host-time-out/15.

•

QueryInterval: host-time-out/ 3.

Example

The following example enables IGMP querier on a specific VLAN.
