How to Display
Output One
Page at a Time
The
help
and
show
commands instruct the system to display
information. When information fills more than one screen, the
information scrolls until all information has been displayed.
To make the system output easier to read, you can use the
more
command to display the output one screen at a time.
Enter |
more
after the command you are entering. For instance:
>>> help | more
Return
The system responds with the following display:
NAME
help or man
FUNCTION
Display information about console commands.
SYNOPSIS
help or man [<command>...]
Command synopsis conventions:
<item> Implies a placeholder for user specified item.
<item>... Implies an item or list of items.
[] Implies optional keyword or item.
{a,b,c} Implies any one of a, b, c.
{a|b|c} Implies any combination of a, b, c.

more
prompt, you can proceed either one line or one
screen at a time as follows:
•
To proceed one line at a time, press the Return key.
•
To proceed one page at a time, press the space bar on the
console terminal keyboard.
