Creating the portholes: Steps 15-21
b
c
Hold hangar plate (a) in place and mark the edge of the hangar on
the underside.
Cut along the line marked in the previous step and then hold
hangar plate (a) in place to test-fit. Make any necessary
adjustments and then temporarily fit it in place with
double-sided tape.
Lay the porthole plan out flat and try to identify the two sections: the hull and the hangar. Using the dotted lines as guides, separate the two
sections, cutting along the red lines for the hull and the blue lines for the hangar. Pay close attention to the area circled in green near the bow.
Attach the hull section of the plan to the hull by taping it, as shown. Make sure to tape it to the tip of the bow and the tip of the stern. If
the hull on the plan is longer than your model, find an area with no dots (such as that shown here by the dotted lines), cut a suitable
length out of the plan and then tape it together again.
Repeat Steps 10-12 for hangar plate (b), located on the starboard
side of the central elevator.
Repeat Steps 10-12 for hangar plate (c), located on the starboard
side of the stern elevator.
