Apply glue to the two
square holes on the
underside of the wings
and place a wheel in
each of them, as shown.
Make sure the wheels
are aligned with the
lines running from front
to rear on each wing.
Arrange the parts as they are shown in the photograph. You will
notice that the molding sprues are labeled “L” and “R” (circled) –
left and right. To remove them, score along the areas marked
here with red lines, then snap each one out – but only do so
immediately before you fit it, so that you don’t mix up the parts.
Smooth any rough areas or burrs with wet and dry paper.
Glue the tailplanes into place, making sure
they are at right angles to the vertical fin.
Once dry, glue a dive brake to the underside of
each wing, with the free ends facing inward.
Remove the projections from the left and right wingtips by using
a knife to score repeatedly along the red line in the inset. Once
removed, smooth with wet and dry paper.
Fix the wingtips to the rest of the wing one at a time, to ensure
that they are fixed in a straight line.
To create a folded wingtip, insert the projection into the recess at
the end of the wing.
As with the planes you assembled earlier, just test-fit the rest of
these parts for now without gluing, because you will be painting
them later. Until then, store them safely in a zipped plastic bag
along with the three bombs.
