Can’t run the initial configuration program using a serial or USB cable connection.
S:
Check that:
Power is available and the leftmost front panel LED is on.
For the USB connection, if a “Driver not found” error occurs, download the latest USB drivers for
the PC, as noted in the
Configuration Software Requirements
section.
The port settings in the terminal emulation program are set properly: If using the USB interface,
the settings are 57.6kbps, 8-N-1, but on the
ASYNC DATA
port, the settings are 9600, 8-N-1.
With USB connections, it's common for Windows to assign a new COM: port number with each
new start up or when plugging the USB cable into the PC.
If using the
ASYNC DATA
port, verify that Switch 2 on the DIP switch is in the Up position.
The most common problems causing this symptom are incorrect RS-232 wiring or the terminal
emulation program not operating correctly.
How To Return To Factory Defaults
•
If the browser interface is being used, click the “
Restore LAN Defaults
” and the “
Restore
Voice/Data Defaults
” buttons on the
Configuration Summary
screen.

If using telnet (port 8000), select
option 7, “
Reset Configuration to Default”
.

If using the USB serial connection or serial configuration via the
ASYNC DATA
port, the
Load
Defaults
command is
!R
.
•
Removing the internal jumper on J5 (normally on pins 1 and 2) will force the unit to factory
default when it is reset or power cycled.
