Please read all of this section before you 

test the installation.

Testing the 

installation

Plug the AC power cord into the back of the 
Macintosh. Press the power sw itch on the back 
of the Macintosh. You should hear the custom ­
ary “BONG”. If you do not hear the “BONG”, go 
to the next page.

YES! I hear the “BONG”

.

1.  Turn the power off and remove the power 

cord from the Mac.

2.  Insert the floppy disk drive cable, hard disk 

cable and power connector into the appro­
priate sockets on the motherboard. Reinstall 
the disk drive tray by placing the tray back 
on its posts. Replace the four screws.

3.  Replace the case cover and screw. Attach 

all cables you have removed. Now you are 
ready to install the software. Please go to 
Chapter 9, “Installing the Turbo 040 
Software.”
