)-This m ode
slows dow n all currently open applica­
tions, but allows a lot of software that does
not work with the 68040 to run properly.
W hen this m ode is selected, information is
copied straight through the internal 040
cache to motherboard memory.

This m ode
drastically reduces perform ance of all
open applications, but allows m ost 68040
incom patible software to run on the
68040. Most applications do not require
this mode. W hen this m ode is selected,
no application information is cached to
either the internal 040 cache or the sec­
ondary cache.
AutoCache Setup...
- The icon to the left of
each application in the list is a pull-down
m enu that allows you to select the cache
m ode to be used w h en that application is
launched. The options for each application
include the three settings m entioned above:
040 Mode, 030 M ode and Application
Caching Off.
