Pre-formatted Disks

This appendix provides information on proper placement of pre-formatted disks in the 60-
bay and 84-bay disk enclosures when used with the SFA12KXE/12K-20E or pre-configured
systems.

C.1

Disk Labels

Each pre-formatted disk is labeled as shown in

Figure 117

. The label includes an enclosure

number and a disk slot number.

The enclosure number shows which enclosure the module should be installed in. For
example, “

ENCL: 01

” means the disk should be installed in the enclosure labeled

“

ENCLOSURE 01

”. Refer to Section

C.2

for more information on enclosure positions in rack.

The disk slot number indicates the disk’s position within the enclosure.
