A.3

Rackmounting the Automatic Transfer Switch

The ATS is designed to fit within an 1U rack space. For standard SFA12K installation, the ATS
is mounted behind the BBU in the same rack U as the BBU. The ATS’s control buttons and
status LEDs are visible from the back of the rack.

The rackmount kit for the ATS includes two mounting brackets, four flat head screws and
four slide screws

To mount the ATS:

1.

Remove the four screws and alignment washers that hold the BBU slides to the rack's
rear vertical mounting rails. Keep the four alignment washers from the BBU, but
discard the BBU mounting screws. The pan head mounting screws provided with the
ATS will be used for the installation

2.

Place the alignment washers and pan head screws on the ATS brackets (two sets on
each bracket) as shown in

. Then attach the two brackets to the BBU sliding

rails. Do not tighten the screws for now.
