External Triggers
The Trigger Selector feature selects the type of external trigger to use and configure.
Five types of external triggers are available:
• Single Line Trigger (Start)
• Single Frame Trigger (Start)
• MultiFrame Trigger (Start)
• Frame Burst
• Frame Burst Active
Trigger Selector Details
• Single Line Trigger (Start): Starts the acquisition of one line when acquisition is active.
• Single Frame Trigger (Start): Starts the acquisition of one frame when acquisition is active.
The number of lines in the frame is defined by the Height feature.
• MultiFrame Trigger (Start): Starts the acquisition of multiple frames. The number of lines in
the frame is defined by the Height feature. The number of frames is defined by the Trigger
Frames Count feature. No line is lost between frames.
• Frame Active: Starts the acquisition of a frame. The width of the trigger signal controls the
number of lines in the frame.
• Frame Burst Active: Starts the acquisition of multiple frames. The number of lines in the
frame is defined by the Height feature. The width of the trigger signal controls the number of
frames.
Trigger Source Types
• Trigger Source = Line x : Select the Line Input used as an external trigger.
• Trigger Source = Rotary Encoder : External trigger is via one or both Rotary Encoder inputs.
A number of features allow selecting encoder signal direction, scaling and other parameters, to
suit the imaging application. This option is only available when using Single Line Trigger.
• Trigger Input Line Activation : Select rising, falling or any type edge detection.
When Line Input is the trigger source, the width of the trigger signal can be used to control the
exposure time by setting the Exposure Mode feature, available in the Sensor Control category, to
Trigger Width.
