Spatial Correction
The Linea2 color RGB-NIR color camera has a quadrilinear configuration
—
color rows are spatially
separated by one row, while the NIR row is separated further to accommodate NIR processing (in
BGRA pixel format, the NIR line (alpha component) is extracted independently as a separate image
plane and is not implicated in spatial correction).
Figure 35 Linea2 Row Spacing
The camera ensures the scan direction alignment of the three colors by delaying the image data for
each color a set amount of time, as dictated by the scan direction.
If the encoder generates a pulse that is equal to the object pixel, the spatial correction value used
by the camera will be 1. However, guaranteeing the encoder pulse accuracy may not always be
possible. In addition, lens magnification may not be exact
—
which will introduce a similar error seen
as color artifacts.
The Line Spatial Correction feature can correct for small encoder or magnification errors on a sub-
pixel level. The user can enter a floating-point number from 0 to 1.5 to perform the spatial
correction on the color lines. The sub-pixel spatial correction resolution is 1/384
th
of a row. The
feature accepts six decimal places and will adjust the entered sub-pixel adjustment component
accordingly. This feature can only be adjusted when the acquisition is stopped.
