Surface Cleaning Tips
Caution: Do not try to clean surfaces that are made of pressed paper, cardboard, or any surface that
is painted with a non-enamel paint.
Auto Detailing
Floor Mats
Remove floor mats from the car and clean first with nozzle at high pressure from two inches away. Blow
from the side to remove most surface dirt and grime at low pressure, and to loosen embedded dirt in the
fibers, brushing in all directions. Place a towel over the Large Triangular Brush (35) and use back and forth
and side to side movements to remove remaining dirt.
Floor Boards
Blow loose debris out of car using high pressure and nozzle. Then use the same procedure as for floor mats.
Instrument Panel and Rear Package Shelf
Use nozzle with towel wrapped over a Small Nylon Detail Brush (39) at low pressure. If the surface
bleaches out, refresh it with silicone treatment.
Cloth Upholstery
Blow surface dust, grease, lipstick, etc. off fibers with open nozzle at medium or high pressure from two
inches away. The nozzle should be held parallel to the surface. Hold a towel in other hand to catch the dirt
as it is removed. For really dirty upholstery, use the Large Triangular Brush (35) without a towel at low
pressure. Brush lightly in all directions to break loose the emulsified dirt and grease from the fibers.
Place a towel over the brush and remove the dirt at low pressure. If still dirty, repeat.
Leather Upholstery
Blow surface dirt, grease, etc. away using the same technique as with cloth upholstery. Do not allow
upholstery to get wet or absorb too much heat. Clean the upholstery with the Large Triangular Brush (35)
with two towels at low heat.
Headliner
Use the Large Triangular Brush (35) and a towel at low pressure. Move smoothly and quickly over the
entire headliner to remove all traces of nicotine and surface dirt. For greasy stains, spray a detergent on the
towel first, then follow up with another clean towel.
