D-Link KVM-410 User Manual

Section 1 - Product Overview

The administrative settings are available in the KVM-410 browser-based interface, as well as a Windows-based
application, the Administrative Tool. They are used to configure the system, limit access from remote computers,
manage users, and maintain the system with firmware and software module updates.

A Windows Client utility and a Java Client utility are also available in browser-based and Windows application versions.
They are used to initiate a connection to the KVM-410 and enable users to login from a local network or the Internet.
Inclusion of a Java-based client ensures that the KVM-410 is platform independent, and is able to work with all operating
systems.

These client utilities allow access to, and control of, the connected servers or workstations. Once a user successfully
connects and logs in, the screen displays what is running on the remote unit attached to the KVM-410 (a server or
workstation desktop, for example) and the user can control the remote console just as if they were on-site.

The Log Server records all the events that take place on selected KVM-410 units for the administrator to analyze.

Your KVM-410 investment is protected by the ability to stay current with the latest functionality improvements by
downloading firmware update files from the D-Link support website as they become available, and then using the
administrative tools to quickly and conveniently perform any necessary upgrades.
