8. CRAFTWARE PRO
To print a 3D object, the Craftbot needs toolpath information generated from 3D object CAD files like .3mf, .obj or .stl.
Toolpath information is simply called “gcode”. Craftware Pro software converts 3D design files into printing commands
for the Craftbot 3D printer. Craftware Pro was developed by CraftUnique with the aim of simplifying and perfecting the
printing process.
8.1. Installing Craftware Pro
1. Open a new browser session on the computer you’d like to install Craftware on.
2. You can download Craftware Pro from the software download page at: https://craftbot.com/software
3. Select your operating system, then click on the “Get the latest Craftware“ button.
4. The download will start immediately.
Downloading and starting the installer
Windows
»
Start the downloaded installer executable, and it will start the installer application.
MacOS
»
Open the DMG image file, and start the installer application inside it. After the installer is finished, you can eject
the DMG image.
Linux
»
Add executable rights to the downloaded installer (either with ‘chmod +x’, or by right-clicking on it), and start the
installer application.

After starting the installer, you will be guided through several steps.

The installer will start up with a simple welcome page.
• If you’ve previously installed another version of Craftware Pro, the installer will ask if you would like to remove
it before installing. Only a single instance of the program can be installed, so the installer will end if you click
“Cancel“.
Windows
»
Uninstallation of previous version will require
elevated access. Right before uninstalling, a system
popup will ask if you would like to give access to the
installer. Not giving access will result in cancelling
the uninstallation.
Linux
»
Uninstallation of a previous version will require root
access. Right before uninstalling, a system popup will
appear, requesting a root password for the uninstaller.
Not giving access will result in cancelling the
uninstallation.
»
You can select the installation folder, along with some
additional settings which apply to your operating system.
