Providing an IP Address

The DHCP process involves 4 steps: DHCP discovery, DHCP offer, DHCP request
and DHCP acknowledgement. Discovery and request are issued by the modem,
while offer and acknowledgement are issued by the client computer.
Once the modem has an IP address, you should be able to ping it.
