Server IP
Enter the IP address of the trap manager.
Community
Enter the community string for the trap station.
Trap Version
Select the SNMP trap version type—v1 or v2c.
Add
Click to apply the settings.
Remove
To remove the community string, select the community string listed in the current
manager’s field and click
Remove

SNMPv3
Version 3 of SNMP includes new security and administration features and capabilities unique to this version.
The new security features include:

Confidentiality
—Packet encryption prevents snooping by an unauthorized source.

Integrity
—Message integrity ensures that a packet has not been tampered with while in transit. This includes
an optional packet replay protection mechanism.

Authentication
—Verfies that the message is from a valid source.
The new administration features include:
• Authorization and view-based access control
• Logical contexts
• Usernames and key management
• Remotely configurable via SNMP operations
