INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
Equipment Required
• Duodenoscope
• Zilver Biliary Stent delivery system with appropriate stent length and diameter
• .035 inch wire guide of appropriate length
• Fusion wire lock (optional)
IMPORTANT: This stent system is intended for single use only. Do not attempt to reload
a deployed or partially deployed stent.
Procedure Preparation
Single Stent
1. With the duodenoscope in place, introduce a wire guide, floppy tip first.
2. Advance the wire guide until it is fluoroscopically visualized in position through the
stricture.
3. Using the included syringe, prepare the previously selected stent delivery system
and stent by irrigating the wire guide inner lumen and stent lumen with sterile water.
Flushing the device with contrast media is not recommended.
4. After irrigation of the stent, replace the cap.
NOTE: Ensure that the red safety lock is not inadvertently removed prior to steps 1-4 above.
Side-by-Side Stents
NOTE: For side-by-side stenting, a duodenoscope with a minimum channel size of
4.2 mm is required.
1. With the duodenoscope in place, introduce a wire guide, floppy tip first.
2. Advance the wire guide until it is fluoroscopically visualized in position through the
stricture.
3. With the duodenoscope in place, introduce the second wire guide, floppy tip first.
4. Advance the second wire guide until it is fluoroscopically visualized in position
through stricture.
5. Using the included syringes, prepare the two previously selected stent delivery
systems and stents by irrigating the wire guide inner lumens and stent lumens with
sterile water. Flushing the device with contrast media is not recommended.
6. After irrigation of the stent, replace the cap.
