RS-232 Port

The RS-232 port has a 9-pin DB female connector and has the following
pinout:

Note:

The instrument does not require a null-modem cable for connection
to a personal computer. Refer to

Hardware Interconnection

page 53 for cable termination requirements.

Infra-red Port

The infra-red port is located at the front panel, directly below the row of
status indicators. The main function of this port is for retrieving current or
logged data with a PC that has an infra-red port.

RS-485 Port

(Advanced Option)

Up to 32 units can be connected to a common RS-485 bus. Each unit has a
unique address that the host computer uses to identify each instrument.

Figure 13 shows the connection of several instruments to a computer using
the RS-485 port.
