10.0 Field Use of the Front Hopper
10.1 Fertiliser Placement
Depending on the option made at purchase, Fertiliser placement will either be placed down
the front tines or behind the A-Share (underfoot placement).
The leading tines are adjusted by simply removing the pin, sliding the tine to the required
depth position hole (Figure 29) and reinserting the pin. Ensure the fertiliser boots are
positioned directly behind the front tines and not submerged within the soil.

If the height of the fertilizer outlet is required to be altered on the underfoot placement
option, then slacked the retaining clamp, make the necessary adjustments and retighten the
clamp (Figure 30).

11.0 Care and Maintenance
The Claydon Front Hopper requires very little maintenance in order to provide reliable
service. Prior to using the machine the Front hopper should be checked for hydraulic fluid
leaks and all bolts should be retightened after the first eight hours of use.
The Front Hopper should always be thoroughly washed down after use.
