WINS—Enables up to two

WINS

(Windows Internet Naming Service) servers for the DHCP client.

Server 1 and Server 2—Enter one or both IP addresses for the WINS server(s).

❍

●

Apply to PIX—Applies changes you have made to the PIX Firewall.

●

Reset—Discards your changes without applying them.

●

Configuring DHCP

Follow these steps to configure DHCP:

Select the Enable DHCP on inside interface check box.

1.

Enter a range of IP addresses the DHCP server can use as an address pool in the DHCP Address Pool box.

2.

Enter the lease length to grant the client in the Lease Length (milliseconds) box..

3.

Enter the ping timeout in the Ping timeout (milliseconds) box.

4.

(Optional) Select the Enable autoconfiguration box to have the DHCP server automatically configure the
DNS domain name, DNS servers, and WINS servers.

5.

(Optional) Enter the DNS domain name in the Domain Name box.

6.

(Optional) Enter the IP address(es) of the DNS server(s) the client will use in the Server 1 and Server 2
boxes under DNS. You can specify up to two

DNS

servers.

7.

(Optional) Enter the IP address(es) of the WINS server(s) the client will use in the Server 1 and Server 2
boxes under WINS. You can specify up to two

WINS

servers.

8.

Click Apply to PIX.

9.

Viewing DHCP Statistics

Currently, you must use the Tools > Command Line Interface (CLI) feature to view DHCP server statistics.
You can do so by issuing the show dhcpd statistics and show dhcpd binding CLI commands.

Resetting to Last Applied Settings

Reset—Discards changes and reverts the panel to the information displayed when it was opened or the last time

Refresh

was clicked while open.
