Main measurement
Capacitance characterizes the ability of a component to store an electric charge. The unit of capacitance is the
farad (F). Most condensers/capacitors lie within the range from nanofarads (nF) to microfarads (μF).
The multimeter measures capacitance by charging a capacitor with a known current for a known time and
measuring the resulting voltage. The result is the capacitance.

"
Run
" appears when the measurement is in progress.
With large capacitances, the display of "
RUN
" lasts longer.
"
OL
"
is displayed if the value to be measured exceeds the range limits or if the
capacitor is short-circuited.
