The tester of the same performance characteristics can be used as a substitute.
1. Frequency range of RF source
a) Test items
The frequency range refers to the frequency range of the signal which is provided by the signal
source and conforms to the specifications. It is generally described with the upper and lower limit.
The output frequency range of the RF signal source 1 is 2MHz to 1000MHz, and the output
frequency range of the RF source 2 is 2MHz to 400MHz. As the time base cannot be commonly
used by the instrument and external device, test requires should meet the requirements within
2ppm, in combination of various influencing factors.
b) Test block diagram and meters
Instrument / equipment:
Frequency meter(recommended model: Agilent 5350B)
One N/BNCadapter
One RF cable (80cm)
c) Test steps
1) Connect the test instrument as shown in the figure, and warm it up for 30min.
2) Open the RF source window by pressing the [Receiver] hard key or pressing the [Measurement]
key and setting the instrument menu. Set it as follows:
Output port: ANT
RF Source 1Power: -5dBm
RF Source 1: ON
The modulation window must not be opened.
3) Set the frequency of RF Source 1 within its frequency range, and record the reading of the
microwave frequency meter in Table A.2.
4) Change the output source into RF Source 2, and set the output port and power like RF Source 1.
5) Set the frequency of RF Source 2 within its frequency range, and record the reading of the
microwave frequency meter in Table A.2.
2. Output power range and accuracy of RF source
a) Test items
The output power range refers to the dynamic range of the actual output power of the signal
