B. Display of average noise level
a) Test items
The display is measured under the conditions of no signal input but 10kHz frequency range of the
spectrum analyzer and minimum resolution bandwidth in the test.
Requirements of average noise level:
-110dBm (bandwidth: 10kHz; reference level of receiver: -60dBm)
-130dBm (bandwidth: 10kHz; reference level of receiver: ≤-70dBm)
b) Test block diagram and meters
Instrument / equipment:
N type calibration kit(recommended model: 31101)
N/BNCadapter: one
c) Test steps
1) As shown in the figure, connect the 50Ω load to the ANT port of the tested device.
2) Open the spectrum analyzer window by pressing the [Measurement] hard key and setting the
instrument menu. Set it as follows.
Reference: -60dBm
Center frequency: 3MHz
sweep width: 10kHz
resolution bandwidth: 10Hz
Average: ON
Averaging times:16
3) Set the cursor as the maximum value. Read the level value L of the cursor, record the test result
in the test result table A.18, and disable the averaging function.
4) Change the reference level into -80dBm, and enable the averaging function 16 times. After the
test results become stable, repeat Step 3) and 4).
5) Set other frequency points according to the test column requirements. Repeat the above test
steps, and record the test results in the test record table A.19.
C. Residual response
a) Test items
The inherent parasitic jamming signal of this instrument is measured in this test under the
condition of no signal input. The residual response requirement is as follows: ≤-70dBm (reference
level of the receiver: -60dBm).
≤-80dBm (reference level of receiver: ≤-70dBm)
b) Test block diagram and meters
The same as the test of the displayed average noise level of the spectrum analyzer.
