With one person holding the barrier pole in the lowered position, adjust the spikes so
that the spikes just touch the trench plate (Section 7, Figure 64).

To ensure correct adjustment, raise the barrier pole and check that the spikes
are below the top plate (Section 7, Figures 66 and 67).
