Analogue Video Generator

The video generator produces a test image for 

checking cameras, cable, transmission and video 

equipment for faults. You can also use it when setting 

up monitors to ensure true colour reproduction.

You have the option of three test images; a PM5544 

test pattern, an EBU colour bar and an EIA 1956 test 

pattern. Each image can be generated in both PAL and 

NTSC video formats.

The input video signal is displayed on the right hand 

side of the screen. You can see the format, resolution 

and frame rate as well as the image itself.

Fault Finding

If a camera connected to a DVR doesn't produce an 

image it can be tricky to determine if the camera or the 

cable is the problem. By connecting the test monitor's 

output to the same cable and then seeing if an image 

is displayed it's easy to see where the fault lies.
