Basic System Verification
Turn the vehicle ignition ON; the engine must be
running.
Make sure the vehicle is in a good location. A
clear view of the sky is needed for GPS when
the unit is brought on the air for the first time, or
after any reset or upgrade.
Check the MDT, log-in and verify that the screen
lights up and displays the home screen.
Check that the MDM, GPRS and CAN LED
lights are lit.
Tap the Tools icon; then the Status tab; verify
the Modem State is Online, GPS is Fix and
Ignition says On.
Press the Menu button and then tap the
Messages icon. Send a test text message to
dispatch.
Check the Outbox; look for a check mark next
to the test message.
Have dispatcher send test message to the
CarrierMate™.
