If
CYCLE COMPLETION MODE
is set for
MANUAL
, the clamp jaws on the
Model 75 will open, an audible beeping sound will begin and the display will
prompt the operator to press the Run/Stop switch to complete the current cycle
and ready the unit for the next cycle. In this mode the operator has as much time
as required to clear the wire guide bushing of debris. The blade will not close
until the Run/Stop switch is pressed. This option is useful for new operators not
familiar with the sequence of operation. This mode is also useful if the type of
cable being processed is difficult to strip and the slugs tend to get trapped in the
end of the wire guide bushing.

Tip
: When removing the cable from the machine after it has been stripped and
the clamp opens, “push” the cable forward slightly (0.050” – 0.100”) before
pulling it out of the guide bushing. This helps to ensure that the end of the guide
bushing is clear before pressing Run/Stop to finish the cycle.
Note
: Do not insert any object, other than the cable to be stripped, into the
wire
guide bushing. The cutting edge of the cutter blade is fragile and easily
damaged. It is imperative that the cutting edge of the blade be free from chips
for proper operation and precise strip quality.
STOP
: If a slug portion gets caught in the end of the wire guide bushing, DO
NOT ATTEMPT TO FORCE IT THROUGH. DAMAGE TO THE BLADE WILL
OCCUR! To clear the debris, press and release the Run/Stop switch to start a
cycle (with no wire in unit). After the cycle starts, press Run/Stop again. The unit
will go into stop mode and the blade will open to its maximum diameter. Insert a
piece of cable into the wire guide and push the debris through. After the wire
guide bushing is clear, press
. The unit will re-calibrate and be ready to run.

2 Stopping a Strip Cycle
1. If it is necessary to stop the machine during a strip cycle, press and release the
Run/Stop switch to enter stop mode. The unit will stop, the cutter blade will open
to its maximum diameter, and an audible alert will sound. The stop screen will be
displayed, indicating that the cycle has been stopped and that the cable should
be removed. See Figure 5-2 below.
2. Remove the cable and verify that there is no debris caught in the blade end of
the wire guide bushing.
