3. Careful consideration should be made before making any adjustments to the
cable centering adjustments. If the centering is off by a very small amount, such
as may be caused by wire guide manufacturing tolerances or cable tolerances, in
many cases satisfactory strip results can be obtained by simply programming a
slightly deeper cutting depth.
4. Evaluate the degree of cable centering precision required based on the required
cable strip specifications and application before making centering adjustments.
5. Verify the quality of the cable construction before making any cable centering
adjustments, to avoid repeated re-centering of the unit, only to find the problem is
inconsistent cable.
6. It is recommended that only genuine Model 75 wire guides manufactured by
Carpenter Mfg. Co., Inc. be used in the Model 75, to ensure centering
consistency.
Note
: Carpenter Mfg. Co., Inc. will not be responsible for poor performance due to after-
market or customer-manufactured wire guides.

1 General Maintenance
The Model 75 was designed to require a minimum amount of maintenance. It is
recommended that the following maintenance procedures be performed:
1. Empty the debris tray regularly during processing.
2. Check the condition of the orbit rod seal brushes (located behind the cutter
blade) for signs of wear or missing/damaged bristles. Replace as necessary.
3. Check the condition of the cutter blade. With the wire guide bushing removed
from the unit, observe the condition of the blade cutting edge. If large chips are
noted around the cutting edge, the blade should be replaced.
4. Check the condition of the gripper blade edges by observing them from behind
the cutter blade. If they appear dull or chipped, replacement is required.
5. Keep the area around the clamp jaw assembly free from debris. A small flux
brush works well for cleaning around the clamp assembly.
6. In addition to the clamping jaws, stripping debris will eventually accumulate on
other exterior portions of the Model 75. It is recommended that the exterior
portions of the Model 75 be cleaned at least daily.

2 Bearing Adjustment and Lubrication
The bearings, slides, and shafts that are used on the Model 75 are pre-set and pre-
lubricated at the factory. These items are not user-serviceable.
Note
: It is highly recommended that the Model 75 be returned to the factory at 12- to
18-month intervals for routing bearing lubrication and adjustment.
